Jr. High Social Studies--Mr. Kerby

Hey there,

I'm Mr. Kerby, and I teach Jr. High Social Studies here at Kootenai Jr./Sr. High School. I began my teaching career right here at Kootenai in 2017, and I absolutely love it. Not a day goes by that I don't wake up and think how lucky I am to be a Kootenai Warrior! I was born and raised in southern Idaho and graduated from New Plymouth High School in 2009. I attended Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona, where I earned my Bachelor's in Education in 2013 and just completed my Master's Degree in Educational Leadership/Administration from the University of Idaho. In my spare time, I like to fish, ride my bike, jog, play pickleball, read, cook, and travel the world.

I also serve as our Jr./Sr. high school Athletic Director. Athletics are a big part of who I am today and I would encourage any school-age student to participate in every sport or club they possibly can while they have this brief window of opportunity. Not only are athletics/clubs beneficial for one's health; they also teach sportsmanship, teamwork, perseverance, and mental toughness--all qualities requisite in today's competitive, ever-changing world.

Please feel free to reach out to me via email at [email protected] or by phone at (208) 689-3311. I look forward to another great school year here at Kootenai. Go, Warriors!
